Israel has a lot of ancient cities spread throughout the tiny country, dating back thousands of years, giving a glimpse into the history of long gone empires. One such treat in southern Israel is Tel Arad, near the city of Arad. Earlier in 2020, I went for a trip around the south, and made a stopover to revisit this ancient site during pandemic times. There was no one to be seen, I had the whole place for myself, which made it easier to try and imagine what life might have felt like back then.
I then continued to the east, make my way down the winding road to -400m under sea level, to bath in the Dead Sea.
