Engelberg-Titlis is one of the largest ski parks in Switzerland, but during the summer it’s just a gorgeous place to hike, deep in crystal clear freezing water, and enjoy the Swiss breath-taking mountain view from above. Because of the ski resort, you have cable cars and ski lifts taking you almost all the way to the top, and then it a short hike further up, or a leisure hike down the hills through the snow/ice and green. It really does not get much better than that.
An hour drive on winding roads between the mountains and gorgeous lakes, parking down near the cable car, and then a series of lifts taking visitors to mountain top hikes, and a freezing cold pool that has a fun torture walk around it to test your freeze temperature endurance. It’s very refreshing. Some people bring gliders up (something I should definitely try next time), some hike down, some BBQ or just chill next the mountain top lake with a beer. It’s one of the most beautiful places I’ve been to in recent years…
