Touring the Aso area in Kumamoto on the south western part of Japan, I ran into some funky places. Wasn’t sure what to expect of Chojabaru Plateau, just off the Yamanami Highway, but when I got there I saw some great walking trails around the Tadawara Marsh. The area is usually lush and green, but I arrived mid autumn and the area turned completely yellow, which felt special. Wasn’t much of wetlands, it was all pretty dry when I was there, but the walk was quite lovely and make for some great photo ops.
Shall we take a walk?
