As I was making my way west from Urbana-Champaign towards a visit into the past in Topeka Kansas, I decided to make a quick stop in Decatour. As I was going off the highway I saw a sign leading to the Chevrolet Museum Hall of Fame Museum. That sounded interesting, so I decided to go have a look. Most guests, I take it, are car enthusiastics, and I know so little about cars, that the guy at the desk seemed a bit surprised as to why I was there. Each one of the cars there has a history, either being very old, famous, or just a collectible with very few like it anywhere out there. Many if not all of those cars still run, and they take them out to all kinds of events. Next to each car is a board telling you a bit about the car and its history, and there are plenty of cars to keep you busy for atleast an hour, more if you know cars, less if you’re just in it for the quick stop – like me.
Just to give you a taste of this place, here are the cars that I did take the time to get to know, and the year an model can be seen for some on the small board just next to them.
A very shiny experience, as you can see.
Location:
Definitely not a must, but it was an enjoyable stop along the way from east to west.
