After 14 years of being away from Vietnam I made my way back to visit Hoi An. What I have not done when I previously visited 14 years ago, was to really explore Danang, and so before heading down to Hoi An I spent a couple of days exploring more of the city. There are a few famous attractions in the area. The last attraction that I visited was Son Tra Mountain, which some refer to as Monkey mountain, being packed with monkeys and all. There are roads leading up to the top, some hikes, and observation platforms overlooking the Danang coastline, but I simply visited the temple on the southern side. Visible from anywhere in Danang, the temple features a very large white Buddha that most people who visit go to see. Beyond that there are several other small gardens and large buildings in a rather large complex.
Let’s head up to see the Lady Buddha…
There she is…
And there are the momkeys…
With the gardens and temple complex…
