Just when I think I’ve seen everything in Hong Kong, especially museum wise, I run into a new surprise. Away from the tourist beaten track in Tseun Wan, just near the MTR is the Sam Tung Uk Museum, a 200 years old walled village turned museum. Will give you a feel for the Hong Kong history, before the brits turned it into the crazy city that it now is. The house dates back to 1786, and is quite well preserved, with exhibits about the local culture life and a bit of the regional history.
A good way to spend half an hour if you’re in the area…
