In my last visit to Poland I made my way up to the northern coastline to see a bit of Gdansk and catch Florence and the Machine at the Opener terrific music festival in Gdanyia. Gdansk isn’t exactly world famous for beaches, but, not too far away you have Sopot which offers much nicer beaches and Europe’s “longest wooden pier”. You can catch one of the pirate ships from the Gdansk old city pier and cruize directly to the Sopot Pier while also seeing some of the ocean scenic views.
It was a bit gloomy when I visited, and quite crowded, but – regardless- the beaches looked inviting, and the beaches and pier proved very picturesque.
Shall we have a look?
Location:
I’d recommend coming in for half a day or a day if you’re already in Gdansk and feel like some beach vibe.
