To continue the fort tour around the gorgeous old city of San Juan, the Puerto Rican capital, I ventured off from the Castillo de San Felipe del Morro towards the east and into the Castillo San Cristobal, protecting the northeastern side of the city from land attacks.
It has all that you’ve come to expect in terms of gorgeous scenery and a fascinating history. Being the largest of the Spanish forts in the Americas it covers ~27 acres and features a lovely array of underground citerns for you to explore.
Enjoy the views…
And as for the insides…
San Juan’s old city was very relaxed when I was visiting, but one ‘small’ cruize ship coming in and the whole city feels different. Take a look at how large those things are…
Lovely.
