There are beaches, and there are beaches. When it comes to a beach, there’s only so far that the beach can offer that’s different from the other beaches. When you’re at the Philippines, on a small island that’s already a bit off the beaten tourist track, most chances are that the beaches are already very nice. You’ve got your white sand, you’ve got the palm trees, and the clear blue water. But somehow, Kugasuan Beach in Siquijor made a more lasting impression.
You’ll notice a few things. First, it does have all the regular features of your typical Filipino beach. White sand? check. Clear water? ofcourse! Palm trees? can’t get away from those even if you wanted to. But this beach also has those weird rock formations that come out of nothingness as if someone just dropped them from above. They also lean in a very strange way, almost as if made for people to rest comfortably underneath. Aside from a couple of local fishermen and two impressive female tourists, there was absolutely no one there. It is pretty well hidden away and you’ll probably need your own motorbike plus a 500 meter walk passed a "Do not cross or die" sign, to make it there.
So, enjoy the tranquility…
Feel the water…
And just soak all that beauty in…
This is the 500m path leading to this gorgeous little spot…
If you’re on Siquijor, this is a place you should definitely check out. But don’t tell anyone else! 😛
