Neve Tsedek is one of my favorite parts of Tel Aviv, with a special magical charm that’s difficult not to fall in love with. It is a residential area, but there are alot of art galleries, high-quality chic coffee shops, boutique hotels, health food stores, and walking around you can immediately see it has a different atmosphere to it. The buildings are special, the colors become alive, the decorations seem careful yet almost nonchalant, a mixture of old appearance but in a way that makes you want to go back in time and experience it.
Wikipedia kindly elaborates :
Neve Tzedek (Hebrew: נְוֵה צֶדֶק, lit: Abode of Justice) is a neighbourhood located in southwestern Tel Aviv, Israel. It was the first Jewish neighbourhood to be built outside the walls of the ancient port of Jaffa. For years, the neighbourhood prospered as Tel Aviv, the first modern Hebrew city, grew up around it. Years of neglect and disrepair followed, but today, Neve Tzedek has become one of Tel Aviv’s latest fashionable and expensive districts.

Towards the beach area, the old Turkish period train station has been remodeled and recently renovated into what is sure to soon become another popular hangout filled with modern arts, push cafes and upscale restaurants. The Israeli crowds are hungry for more…

As an ex-Tel Avivienne (still miss the place) I am impressed how well you captured this little known gem of a neighborhood. The style and local art is fantastic and unique.

Thanks Liora (guest) – that's nice to hear. Still in Israel or living abroad?
