The long winding Maclehose Trail that cross Hong Kong from east to west, ends in the section 10 at the west near Tuen Mun at a unique scenic spot that some refer to as the 1000 islands. Not exactly a thousand, but the Tai Lam Chung Reservoir has been created in a way that there are quite a few hills in those reservoir water that look like a nice collection of islands, making the scenery very pretty.
So, we can start from the views from the top…
How did I get there? In this specific hike I started from the south side of the reservoir, the “Tai Lam Chung Reservoir Small Dam” which was the end of a long road from the Gold Coast area.
Then, it’s time to start climbing up…
Until you get here…
And that leads you to the grand views.
On that road are a few interesting finds, like this small temple…
It connects to another interesting hike…
With some colorful trees on the Tai Tong Nature Trail…
