Just when I think I covered all the main attractions in my region of Hong Kong someone brings up something new I have not heard of before resulting in me rushing over to have a look and look for new adventures. The Yingxi Fenglin Corridor Scenic Area is only a couple of hours drive from Guangzhou, and is a fun daytrip to experience nature turned mass-tourist Chinese destination. There are beautiful limestone hills and mountains, rivers, and hidden underground caves.
Trip.com writes:
Yingxi Fenglin Corridor is located between the two towns of Jiulong and Huanghua, in southwest Yingde City in Qingyuan. The entire area features over a thousand curiously shaped limestone peaks, and a river flowing through mountains caressed by clouds and gorgeous scenery. The attraction covers a wide area, including mountains, caves, a sea of clouds, bamboo forests and farmhouses, all exemplary of beautiful rural scenery.
You start off by taking a lovely boat ride …
And end up in a short walking trail going into wonderful caves, with various transparent observation deck bridges, curious rock formations, and magical waterfalls.
There are also some cultural activities, and ofcourse local food snacks and tea…
Not too far away there was a lovely hidden underground cave. I arrived just when they thought of closing up, but seeing me they were happy to stay a bit longer and take me down for a last underground river cruize…
Yet another lovely day in Guangdong province with a surprising fun day trip from Hong Kong…
