Revisiting Chang Mai 14 years being away, there were a few spots that I was looking forward to seeing again. One of those was the Doi Suthep National Park and Wat Phrathat Doi Suthep, set high on the mountains overlooking the city of Chang Mai. I rented a scooter, and headed up the winding roads with a few stops for observation decks towards the city. I parked near the entrance, with lots of tourist buses and shops, and slowly made my way up the dragon stairs to the mountain high temple, and then spent a couple of hours exploring the temple grounds and enjoying the people watching and the spectacular panoramic views in all directions.
Let’s climb up…
And enter…
Crowded, and lots of worshipers, from all cultures, waiting to meet the local priests…
Gorgeous golden structures…
And lots of green and flowers…
With good views, even as the farmers burn their crops, creating a haze/smog around the city…
