In Bangkok, right after visiting Wat Arun and before visiting the Thai Royal Palace, I made a quick stop in another famous royal temple – Wat Phra Chetuphon (Wat Pho), or Temple of the Reclining Buddha. It features, well, a very large 50m reclining golden Buddha, chilling inside a big building surrounded by an impressive temple complex. The template dates back to the 16th century, has been recognized by UNESCO for some of what it features, and is about the themes of Thai medicine and massage healing. Worth stopping by shortly and wondering about, and wouldn’t take longer than an hour.
Shall we enter?
