I’ve lived in Taiwan for some time long ago, and but haven’t really paid much attention to Taichung. I’ve been there maybe twice, and if asked I can’t really say that I could recall much about the city, but rather about the daytrips from Taichung.
In my last visit to Taiwan, I decided to make a stopover in Taichung for a weekend to check it out more carefully. Ofcourse, limited time, and I was on a somewhat strict agenda for my Taiwan visit, but still could venture around a bit on foot.
In the short time I was there I was able to see quite a bit, and so this is meant to give you a teaser to what Taichung may have to offer. What I can say with some confidence is that Taichung changed in the last 10 years, and it is now a more pleasant and happening city than I remembered.
