In the last year I’ve had the pleasure of stopping over in Rome on three different occasions. The first couple of times it was only for a day or two, one of those with circumstances beyond my control when my connecting flight was cancelled and Alitalia sponsored my unexpected stay. Even though these first two times were very brief, Rome has already made a very lasting impression on me as one of the most special cities I’ve ever been to. The third time was longer, visiting my sister who by then moved to Rome and was therefore able to offer me a more local less touristy view of the city with neighborhoods like San Lorenzo, Pigneto, and Monti. The tourist attractions with the history and the religious significance almost makes it difficult to appreciate what a vibrant happening world city this

Before diving in to the specific sites and experiences, I first give you my ‘visions’ of Rome…
