It’s been 20 years since I last visited Poland under very different circumstances in a time following the Soviet collapse, so I’ve been wanting to go back and visit for quite some time. Looking for a quick weekend getaway, it turned out that my little town of Maastricht has an airport that holds very cheap Wizzair flights to various locations in Poland, one of those a city I’ve never heard of before – Poznan. Was I in for a lovely surprise. Poznan was beautiful and happening. A magical old town square, lots of history and architecture, friendly English speaking locals, lots of tasty beers and live music options, and a generally sunny and positive vibe, it was a very positive experience.
Before going into the details, I’ll give you my general impressions of the city, with a mobile photography Visions of Poznan tour…
