Was hoping to take my sister to cool down a bit from the hot summer down in southern Europe and when I mentioned Finland she was immediately into it. We’ve both been wanting to visit, and this seemed like a good opportunity. Helsinki was our first stop, a pretty laid back capital city with a walkable compact downtown, that in the 2-3 days in and out we managed to map out quite well. It was very relaxing, with a somewhat hipstery feeling to it, and the lakes, beaches, and forests made the city feel as well balanced, and with everyone speaking English and efficient public transport it was all very positive.
