Last newyears I stayed in the Hague-Rotterdam area and was looking for something to explore in the area. Although I haven’t heard anything about Delft from anyone, it showed up on the map between the two main cities so I decided to look it up and see what it might have to offer and was surprised to see people refer to it as “little Amsterdam” and a hidden gem. So, I decided to go and have a look, and although weather was gloomy I did find a nice canal town, with a small market (or two), and a couple of attractions that make for a pleasant daytrip.

The Nieuwe Church, or new church, for example, offers long winding stairs going up all the way to the top to offer you grand views of the area, and the Museum Prinsenhof Delft will take you back in Dutch history through the lens of the Orange prince to explain how Netherlands was formed as a state.

To kick things off, here are some of my “visions” of Delft…
