Poznan was the first city I visited in modern post-communist Poland, and it definitely left a very positive impression on me that left me wanting to see more, resulting in another visit later on that year. At the heart of Poznan and major contribution to the Poznan charm is the town hall market square, with colorful buildings, and much history dating back to the 13th century. My hotel was based very close to the old square and I’ve spend many hours chilling out at the local cafes, eating at one of the many restaurants, or having a drink at the nearby local breweries. If you’re a tourist visiting Poznan, you’re bound to cross this square quite often on the way to your next attraction, and it’s a beautiful sight day or night. There is usually a market selling local crafts and produce and you’ll probably also hear music playing in the square pubs.
So, let’s see a bit of the area…
