Macau’s one of the fastest growing places in the region, all the money coming in to Macau through gambling and other dubious side-businesses and that has really boosted things up. Many of the new shiny casinos and hotels are on the Taipa island, off the main Macau downtown, and most people don’t really do much in Taipa other than throwing money at casinos and shows. But, there’s a bit to see and do in Taipa that goes beyond wasting your money away. Overlooking the new sky-line are a few old houses on the south side of Taipa. These houses used to be close to the sea, but development and land reclamation left them somewhere in the middle of the Taipa area.
So, the photo above is the panoramic views of the new world-class Macau Taipa casinos. If you turn around, you’ll see…
Charming Portuguese style European feel houses…
Which couples really love for photo taking.
or resting.
If you have time, not too far away is the Taipa Old Houses Museum.
If you linger till night…
Things look a bit different…
Mysterious creepy feeling to it.
If you’d like, plenty of local and Portuguese restaurants in the area in very affordable prices. So why not stick around?
