If you’re looking for truly panoramic views of Hong Kong, then it would make sense that the best place for that would be Hong Kong’s tallest tower – the International Commerce Centre, which just so happens to be located in one of Hong Kong’s best locations overlooking Victoria Harbour. With all the new skyscrapers popping up in the middle east and the China region, Hong Kong’s ICC is currently pushed back to 5th place in the world.
The easiest option to get up there is to visit Sky 100, the observation deck, which will set you back ~150HK$ (buy your tickets from travel-agents/groupon-sites for discounted 70-100HK$ tickets). Alternatively, you can go visit the OZone bar in one of the world’s most expensive hotels – the HK Ritz Carlton, located slightly higher than the the Sky100 starting from the 104th floor.
I visited Sky100 on a somewhat gloomy day, but the views are breathtaking nonetheless …
Actually, gloomy’s quite fitting for Hong Kong, isn’t it? gives it a “Dark Knight” Gotham sort of apocalyptic feeling. I like it.
Here’s what it looks like inside…
Getting to the Kowloon MTR station is a bit of a trip for someone who lives in Sai Kung. If you’re there, might as well explore Elements, one of HK’s most exclusive shopping malls, where I’m forced to confront the reality of my very humble student existence. But, no doubt, this exhibition of wealth and grandeur is an important part of the Hong Kong experience.

Does the floor revolve? As a novice photographer am I alowed to bring my tripod? what will be the best time to take pictures of the sunset? Thank you
Casper – the floor doesn’t revolve, and I’m quite sure you can bring in a tripod. if you want to make sure, just call them up, they’d be happy to help.
