A year ago I spent a few weeks visiting one of the local universities in Singapore, and in between had a bit of time to explore more of Singapore and revisit some of the sights I remembered from a previous visit, 5 years prior. It was hot and humid, and yet somehow it didn’t matter much – it was all very impressive. Some of my local friends and hosts, as well as visiting tourists that shared their experiences with me, seem to downplay Singapore, with all sorts of criticism, and I get all that, sure. But when it comes to world cities – to me – Singapore is up there with some of the world’s best.
