After my visit to Turin northern Italy, I took a short road trip up to the northern mountains, before heading down to Genoa. I have heard it’s a nice ride, but nothing prepared me for the spectacular views of that region. Sacra di San Michele, up high, is the perfect observation point for the mountains and valleys. Breathtaking views in every direction, combined with very interesting regional history, and the drive up through Lago Grande di Avigliana offers plenty of places that got me to stop the car and linger for a while. I should really get back to that region and explore those mountains more, but for the first visit, it was a very good teaser.
How good was it really? you be the judge…
