I was visiting northern Limburg with my parents, and after roaming around and seeing white town Thorn and some of the nearby lakes, we decided to head over and check out Roermond. Turns out that Roermond features a very large outlet center and my parents wanted to see if there was anything interesting to bring back home for the family. We didn’t expect it, but that ‘outlet’ center is basically a luxury shopping mall for some of the most posh brands out there, which even with the ‘outlet’ discount would ask for your annual salary for a pair of shoes. But, Roermond old town offered a solution. Not only did it have a nice old Dutch square to chill and eat, and a couple of nice cathedrals, but there was also some fairly decent and affordable collection of shops. Nothing special to write home about, but it was able to do the trick.
To give you a taste of the old town Roermond vibe…
