Chicago is a beautiful city and one of the nicest places to appreciate the Chicago skyline is from the Museum Campus. It’s a lovely area, which includes some of Chicago’s best museums – the Field Museum of Natural History, the Adler Planetarium, and the Shedd Aquarium. I was lucky to visit the campus on a perfect sunny day and enjoy grand views of the city.
Aside from the terrific skyline and the blue waters, what was perhaps even more interesting was the people watching…
Or, if you’re into something slightly different… bird watching.
As for museums, on my limited schedule I had to choose between the Field Museum…
The Shedd Aquarium…
Or the Planetarium …
All of those museum types I’ve seen endless times in many other places and I needed something I could wrap up in around two hours. And so the choice was easy – the planetarium …
Honestly? aside from the 2 3D movies I saw, the museum itself wasn’t all that interesting, but then – I’ve already head my share fair of space museums and planetariums and this one is relatively small. Perhaps, would be more suitable for those with kids.
But, the museum campus is spectacular, and there’s lots to see and do. Can spend there a day or more, be it museums, the beach, sailing, or just overlooking the Chicago skyline.
