In mid April Maastricht in southern Netherlands hosted its first Museum night (“Museumnacht Maastricht“). From 8pm to 12pm all museums in Maastricht were open to the public and hosting funky events. That’s when I realized that Maastricht actually has quite a few specialty museums, and that night I visited 3 of those. The last of those was the Museum aan het Vrijthof, located at teh Vrijthof at the heart of Maastricht’s old town. It displays a collection of local history and art.
The night that we were visiting the museum hosted ‘Pure’, a retrospective exhibition of works by Les Deux Garçons, and it was mind provoking and exciting. The museum building is impressive on it own, so together with the interesting art, and the museum night music in the background it was a wonderful visit.
Below are some of the highlights of the exhibition:

Museum night was fun and it was wonderful discovering all that Maastricht has to offer. Looking forward to the next one.
