One of the nicest surprises for me in Seville was a Flamenco show I caught with the Museo del Baile Flamenco. Although it is meant for tourists, and you might expect cliche, as far as I can tell this was a very well done show, with some very impressive local artists. It gave a very good intro to the art of Flamenco and I think it’s safe to say everyone in the audience was amazed and overwhelmed by the performance. It’s the kind of teaser that makes you wonder why you’ve missed out on this and gets you seeking out more. Both the music and the dancing were brilliant, highly engaging, entertaining, rhythmic, energetic, sexy, and since the audience is sitting up close less than a meter away it makes the audience feel as if they’re taking part. I honestly can’t remember the last time I enjoyed a dance performance this much.
Videos were not allowed, and my mobile camera isn’t very good with low light, but that just makes the photos funkier. Here’s a bit from the performance, wish I could share the music and the moves with you.

The museum also offer Flamenco lessons and has an exhibition on the history of Flamenco. The show is very recommended, so try and fit this in to your Seville schedule.
