There is so much going on in New York in terms of art it’s difficult to choose, but a short visit only allows for the highlights and so – the New York Metropolitan Museum of Art is a definite must. I’ve seen my fair share of art museums all over the world, but – without a doubt – the Met stands tall to compete with the best of them.
So are so many different themes combined in one gigantic building, it’s impossible to cover everything in a single visit.
From mummies…
To old European houses…
European streets …
European art…
To the modernists and the contemporary…
Medieval exhibitions…
Asian historical artifacts…
Most, if not all, world famous.
Even with my very limited understanding and knowledge of art I was walking through the Met completely overwhelmed with how nicely done it all was. Not pretentious, spacious, and appealing to all crowds. Whoever you are and whatever your preference for art is, you’re bound to find something you’ll like.
Will definitely be back here when in New York again.
