The Louvre, possibly the most well-known museum (and with the most mis-pronounced name) in the world is an important landmark at the heart of Paris. Every year millions of tourist swarm its halls to see famous art masterpieces. But I didn’t. Over the couple of weeks spent in the area I contemplated going a few times, but I found lots of excuses why not to, the main excuse being that Paris has just so much to offer beyond that and I’ve seen my fair share of world-class art museums in the last few years. Still, there’s no excuse for not visiting the gorgeous area, with the Louvre iconic Pyramid, the arch and the nearby park and gardens, it’s a wonderful area to tour on foot.
The nasty clouds really made the area appear apocalyptic. Tour the nearby Tuileries Gardens and the 1st arrondissement area.
Location:
Paris is gorgeous, there’s no doubt about it. Put on your walking shoes and just roam around freely. Wherever you go, beauty and style surround you.
