Kau Sai Chau’s Golf Course is as good as it gets with public golf courses. Set in the beautiful scenery of Sai Kung Peninsula, looking terrific from my university (HKUST) not too far away, people might go there to golf – but the view and the settings is what makes it special. There are other gorgeous golf courses in Hong Kong, the wealthy do need the best spots in Hong Kong to socialize and scheme financial world domination, but most of those are exclusive and for members only. Kau Sai Chau’s… anybody can go.
Not that I’m much of a golfer. The closest I’ve ever been to actual golf was playing Mini Golf in some dirt joints in Israel and running the mobile phone JAVA golf game-app when I was too bored. But, now that I had a taste of the champions’ game, I just might reconsider that.

To get there, you take the golf course ferry for about 60HK$, which can be waived under all sorts of plans that they offer. From the ferry stop on the island, there’s a bus that takes you up to the main building.
