Bangkok is a shopping mecca, and a lot of people come to the city to do shopping. It’s quite remarkable just how many posh shopping malls are in this city, appealing to all tastes and budgets. The latest addition, I think, is the iconic Icon Siam shopping mall, which is possibly one of the grandest ones I’ve visited with a truly spectacular interior design, and some really fancy decorations. There’s a large fountain on the outside that dances and lights up in the evenings, there is a the world’s largest indoors waterfall with water raining down from the high ceiling, there is a posh floating village market style on the ground floor, and endless shops of all sorts of things, and an endless array of food options. One can easily get lost in there, and spend a whole day. I just went in for a posh movie experience, food, and a nearby rooftop drink with some of the best views of Bangkok.
