At the end of the wharf harborwalk and the freedom trail is Quincy Market and the Faneuil Hall, which served as Boston’s commercial downtown during the 19th and most of the 20th century. After a couple of slow decades the area was revived to now offers visitors a large selection of restaurants, pubs and outdoor performances. The Faneuil Hall also offers a quick glimpse into some of the local history, serving as the meeting hall during important times for Boston and the US in gaining independence from Britain.
