San Diego has some terrific beaches, some say they’re some of the best beaches in the United States. Having lived in Florida before, my standards are set pretty high, but there’s no doubt the beaches I saw in San Diego were beautiful. Long white stretch of beach, puffy sand, clear blue waters, not a boat in sight. It was Christmas time, so not really swimming temperature, but definitely warm enough for a quick dip and playing around in the sun.
The Discover San Diego website writes:
Consistently voted one of America’s finest beaches by The Travel Channel, Coronado’s beaches glisten year around due to the mineral Mica in the sand, while gentle waves caress the shoreline. Whether you’re looking for a romantic island getaway with your partner, or a fun-filled family beach vacation, you’ll find the idyllic beach paradise in “The Crown City” and neighboring regions. From the shores of Silver Strand State Beach to the tip of the Coronado Municipal Beach, you’ll find plenty of wide open sand, gentle waves and gorgeous views.

Everything about San Diego was picturesque and charming, and this beach was a wonderful way to open up the day.
