To get a taste of home during my exchange to the states, I joined my mother during our joint visit to New York last year to explore the NYC China Town, one of the most famous China Towns in the world. It was actually much more humble than I remembered it from my last visit to New York right after 9-11, but it did have the right atmosphere.

Old Chinese people playing the park…
Tea shops…
Weird temples and Chinese bus companies heading our of NYC…
and if you’ve had enough of China, Italy isn’t too far away…
Not nearly as exciting as the originals, but I love the intensity of all the small cultural islands across NYC. Nice and cozy China Town…
