The Portuguese Sintra, is a wonderful getaway from Lisbon with world class attractions. Of all the Sintra attractions I visited, the nicest was the Castelo dos Mouros, or Castle of the Moors, a medieval castle built by the Moors in the 8th century over an imposing hilltop. A UNESCO heritage site, this fort has it all, incredible well preserved history and breath-taking panoramic views in all directions. In some parts, it looks a bit like the great wall of China, with winding fortifications over several mountains. When I visited, it was very windy and quite cold, making it very challenging to stay there for long, but it was a really fun experience .
To give you a taste of this magical place and the incredible views…
