Visiting Cardiff in Wales on a daytrip from Bristol, I only had plans to visit the Cardiff castle, but ofcourse it turned out that Cardiff has a few more gems to offer. The central pedestrian area of the old town leading to the castle is quite pleasant, but an even nicer surprise was my quick visit around sunset to the Cardiff Bay area. There’s a very nice recently renovated area near the Taff Trail with the huge Wales Millennium Center and lots of shopping options like Mermaid Quay. There are some wetlands and parks for you to stroll around, and the views towards the bay are terrific, especially during sunset. There are even old building dating back to the late 19th century, like the Pierhead.
Have a look…
Location:
A great way to wrap up a daytrip to Cardiff, and still seems like there’s much to explore and see in the area, so I do hope to make it back some day soon with more time.
