In my last visit to the UK I had a few days to explore the lovely old town of Cambridge and venture into some of the inner courts of the college campuses with a host professor. During that time there was also an open day for the university, so there was unrestricted access to some private sections of the campuses, like old libraries, old chapels, and everything else that’s old and Cambridgy. Over the course of the weekend, I saw quite a bit of the town, and was charmed, it has a unique British vibe of prestige and history with a bit of (probably somewhat justified) snob and arrogance. Definitely a town worth exploring and even lingering in for a bit, especially when campus student life is bustling with action.
