A short drive away from Obidos in Portugal was an unexpected delight that took me completely by surprise. A funky attraction in the most unlikely place. The Buddha Eden Gardens are so out of place, and so strange, yet so nice, that I wasn’t entirely sure how I feel about this place. At the beginning I thought it was some strange tourist trap, then when I saw the scale and the various art installments, I changed my mind, and when I left I was no longer sure what I just saw. What was that?

Can’t help you there, this is a phenomenon you have to see for yourself. It’s a combination of grand gardens, with some really funky art, all surrounding a series of Buddhas on a mountain. Do let me know what you thought when you figure it out.

What’s strange? Have a look at this place…

It’s interesting, I’ll grant them that, and spectacular. Definitely worth a stop if you’re in the area.
