Lisbon was a very pleasant surprise with an amazing diversity of attractions all over the city and fairly comfy warm weather during my visit in February. On the one day that was gloomy and rainy, I explored a bit of the western side of Lisbon and tried some indoor attractions to see some terrific contemporary art at the Berardo Collection Museum, located next to the very impressive Jeronimos Monastery. There were a number of world-class exhibitions when I visited, but generally everything I saw there was thought provoking and well explained in English. A real treat. The monastery is a UNESCO heritage site dating back to the 15th century, and just next to it you can also explore the maritime museum and the national archaeology museum.
