Trinidad was definitely one of the highlights of the trip to Cuba. An old colonial Spanish style town, lots of old buildings, bustling with cafes, restaurants, markets, and music. There are quite a few things to do in the area (e.g., Torre de Manaca Iznaga & Los Ingenios Valley), but there are also quite a few attraction in the town itself. I did a hike up the near mountain to find some tourist girls dancing salsa with the radio communications tour guards, with panoramic views over the entire southern Cuba coastline. I climbed church bell towers at the center of town to have a look at the town from above. I shopped at markets, listened to lots of local music, ate lots of good food, had some random encounters with various interesting people (e.g., an elderly couple invited me to join for dinner, and it turned out to be fun and interesting). Fun times.
To summarize my experiences in Trinidad, here is a photo walk of the lovely town…
