Earlier this year I visited Austin Texas for a psychology conference and so took the time to also visit the hosting local university- the University of Texas at Austin. It’s one of the world’ top universities, considered in the US to be a "public Ivy league", it has a wonderful psychology department and a business school supported by the local blooming IT industry. College life, it seems, are also ranked high as Austin is nationally famous for being the ‘live music capital of the world’ no less with a very lively artist and creative scene.
The campus itself, I must say, is quite simple if not ordinary. Not really anything too impressive, but there is one tall building at the center – the Beaux Arts main building, which will take you with a tour up on the top for some panoramic views of Austin. The campus also has a number of small museums, of which I visited two – the Texas history museum and the arts museum.
