Amsterdam is a beautiful city. Though I’ve visited many cities in various countries in the last few years, Amsterdam definitely stands out from all the rest with unique charm. As a friend of mine eloquently put it – every photo you take in whatever way looks like a postcard. The long canals, the historical houses, the little cafes and restaurants, the lovely people, it all comes together in a very convincing way.
This post of dedicated to the Amsterdam canals. I was very lucky to find a terrific Airbnb room on the Prinsengracht canal a walking distance from almost everything central Amsterdam has to offer, and so I spent many hours wondering around the canals and admiring the city.
Most of the tourists, like myself, go for a canal boat tour. I just walked into one, but you should probably choose yours better unless you’re alright with hearing every sentence in three different languages. There are options with an open roof-top and a glass of beer or two, that leave close to the red-light district. Looks like a good way to start the evening.
Hope to make it back someday soon.
