I visited the Kanapaha Botanical Gardens while in Gainesville for an academic conference with the University of Florida (SSSP 2012). A lovely Gainesville student couple were sweet to host me while in Gainesville and were the ones to suggest visiting the gardens. Gainesville definitely did a good job with these gardens, they are pleasant and diverse, very nicely maintained and they offered a relaxing nature weekend stroll.
What’s to see? lots.
The good old Florida crying trees…
Lakes and lotus ponds…
Exotic and unique flowers…
Some of the local wildlife…
And, generally wonderful walking trails and gardens…
The botanical gardens offer guided tours of the grounds if you want more details about the plants and flowers. A terrific way to spend an afternoon. Recommended if you’re in town.
you took those lovely photos of anymals? dragonfly photo? its veryyy nice….BTW, I’m wondering how can you remember this garden and whole things that happened more than half of a year for a short memorizer? 😉
