Every city should have a Central Park. This should be made a rule taught to every urban architect in the 101 Introduction to Urban Planning course in undergrad and added to every country’s constitution by law – each major urban city there must be, atleast, one Central Park. Why? Because it’s the kind of thing that makes a city. I’m aware of cynics seeing the potential hazards, with all sorts of potential crime infestations, but that’s beside the point – those can happen just as much if not more in other parts of town. It can also look rundown and neglected, but if you do a half-decent job like they did in New York City or Prospect Park in Brooklyn, then you’ve got yourself classy city.
Anyways, you could tell I’m impressed with Central Park. I’m impressed with most things related to New York City, even the negatives, but Central Park to me is a symbol of the city. So, without further ado, I give you, my tour of New York City’s Central Park…
Winter, summer, sunny, gloomy, it’s plain gorgeous.
