Surf’s up. No major attractions in the Puerto Rican Rincon area, but if you’re into white sand beaches with gorgeous subsets and some major surfs then Rincon is where you should be.
I drove with a car through the winding roads along the coast, stopping every once in a while to climb up to some lighthouse or observation post, taking in the spectacular views on a lovely sunny day. Though I shamefully admit that I can’t surf, I did enjoy looking at some of the local showing off their stuff.
Let’s start with the glorious beaches…
One ‘tourist attraction’, perhaps, is the Rincon lighthouse near El Faro Park and Columbus Rock, and if you’re really into local attractions then there’s a "future nuclear museum" (see if you can find it in the first beach photo hiding between the trees).
Then, ofcourse, are the surfs…
The Tourism Association of Rincon offers a great tourist map for the area. Check it out :
Took a swim, met some nice locals, ate some of the road-side food. Was a blast.
