Yoav Horesh, an Israeli photographer teaching photography in SCAD Hong Kong – who also happens to be a dear friend, is having a photography exhibition in Hong Kong. The exhibition, called "Where We Stand" takes a look at how people perceive and relate to public space. The exhibition is together with another SCAD member – Steven Aishman who runs "not quite Art". The exhibition will be running between 13th-23rd of May 2012 at the JCCAC Artist Village in Shek Kip Mei.
The exhibition posters:
I visited the exhibition on the 13th, just as it finished setting up.
Here are a few snapshots of the exhibition halls (taken with a mobile phone):

Statement :
These are not exotic locations or unique situations. Some sites may be historically significant, carrying the marks of trauma and informing a culture. But the moments captured here are simply glimpses of reality through the spaces we share. When we pause long enough to notice the place where we stand, the reference of time and shared experience deepens our contemplation.
What is your own relationship to a given space, its history, your culture or another’s? How do you occupy space alone and with others? How do we collectively restructure space by standing in it, and how does your position, physically and mentally, reshape space or retell history?
Exploring that which is uncommon in the common is the arc of relation across time. It is awaking to every mundane moment and a calling to question Where we Stand.

Statement :
this is not a body of work, this is not art at all
these are photos that my wife and I have taken of things that our 2 year old son has made out of other things
they were not made to be art, they were not conceived of as art
their maker does not even know what art is, they are not art
sometimes things are just cool things to look at, I think my son makes cool things
here they are
