You’ve seen the views from magical Jiufen in Taipei County and visited one curious attraction but there’s a lot more to Jiufen that lies with its mysterious narrow alleys and wonderful little shops and eateries.
Walk with me…

Great set of photos here. They really remind of when I was walking around there.
Thanks, Michael, that’s nice to hear.
I went here last October with my friend. Even though we were both unfamiliar with the area, we were very determined to find the alleys as one of my favorite Asian dramas shot a scene here. I love the ambiance around the place.
it resembles other alleys in touristic villages in Taiwan.
You saw one you saw them all.
Nitzan – huh!? I’ve been all over Taiwan and haven’t seen anything quite like it. Could you be a bit more specific? when you talk about “touristic villages in Taiwan” – which places are you referring to?
Jiufen is truly unique. Maybe if you look superficially at some of Taiwan’s lovely small towns, you get the impression that they’re alike, but each has a specific history and special charm. Haven’t seen anything like Jiufen in Taiwan. It’s a real gem.
Kafka – ^_^ glad you share my excitement about the place. Been following your blog. Loving it, and congrats for overwhelming the Taiwanderful best blog votes. Quite a feat. 😉
Wonderful pictures! All those food stuffs revive my taste buds and feel like chomping them.
