After completing the drive from Tainan through Paolai, Mei Shan and the beautiful mountain road I arrived at the east coast. The valley stretching out from the high mountains of central Taiwan to the mountains of the east coast was absolutely breath taking. The views I’ve seen there were more beautiful than anything I’ve seen before in Taiwan, and compete with some of the most spectacular scenery I’ve seen anywhere in the world. I’ll start off with my personal favorite – the sixty stone mountain.
Those next ones felt like the heavens shining down on earth…
Even more beautiful were the views from above the clouds…
The mountain itself was covered by blooming lilies, the local specialty.
Tales of my special hosts on the mountain and more photos are yet to come …
You had a very nice trip and the photos are very beautiful either!!
Great pics thar Fili–I too enjoy looking down on Taiwan from above. 😉
Also, watch out, those Blogger meet ups are dangerous and riddled w/commie spies.
Great pics.
Had I not known otherwise I would have thought they were taken in Ireland or Scotland.
how long does it takes you? looks like a quick weekend trip,
i think three days for the ‘driving around and take a look trip ‘ is a perfect tempo.
Hi,Fili.I am a student from Hualien, where the sixty stone mountain is located.I am glad that you enjoy the scenary there,it is rally breathtaking , isn’t it? There are still a lot of good places in Hualin, I hope you can enjoy your trip.(I have been to your class in English corner in NCKU!!)
Everyone – Thanks guys, that’s nice to hear. It was beautiful over there, I highly recommend it.
Chloris – the whole drive was exactly three days, and I felt it was in a bit of a rush. I’d say, if you have a week for the east coast – that would be perfect.
Sarah – glad you came for a visit 🙂
